Yusuke Toda is a contemporary pop artist from Japan. He previously served as an assistant to two of Japan's most important artists, Takashi Murakami and Takashi Murakami, before establishing his own independent studio. He has held a series of highly acclaimed exhibitions in Tokyo, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Taiwan, becoming a globally sought-after artist. Toda will be holding a solo exhibition titled "YUM and Lovely Friends" at Touch Gallery in Hong Kong at the end of August, continuing to spark lively discussions.

As the only child in his family, Toda's parents often worked late into the night during his childhood. Without a television, he began creating art to escape feelings of loneliness. In his works, he created YUM, which serves as a connection to his audience. YUM frequently appears as an independent character in each painting, linking back to his childhood self. On one hand, it expresses another aspect of the artist; on the other, it represents shared childhood memories and nostalgia for many people. In this exhibition, he aims to uplift viewers through a series of works, conveying that even during difficult times in life, there are memories and feelings that can provide comfort and companionship. The vibrant and muted colours blend together, symbolising the balance between light and darkness. Ultimately, these experiences nourish our resilience and encourage us to move forward positively.

Yusuke Toda's works, filled with positivity and emotional support, invite everyone to revisit the warmth and comfort of joyful moments from the past. We sincerely invite you to come to the Touch Gallery to experience the genuine emotions and creativity expressed in the artist's paintings.
